Imperial, this wall lamp in solid bronze, old gold finish with three Empire-style lights. It evokes the grandeur, the glory and the extravagance of the period, the fruit of military success. This wall sconce is a true masterpiece. The daisy, the emblematic flower of the Empire style, is prominently featured. From the circular central part, three arms radiate in a spiral, underlined with leaves, supporting flared bowls, also underlined with leaves and bearing bobeches worked like a flower heart. In perfect symmetry, the low and high motifs that surround the central part respond to each other. They emphasise the extravagance of the work. The perfection of detail in this work is exceptional. It was made possible by using the best alloys to obtain a very malleable bronze. The hands and the unique know-how of the Lucien Gau craftsmen have been able to express all their techniques: sand casting, turning, chasing according to traditional methods.
