Double sconce in solid bronze Empire style
Patina old gold sconce, carved decor - Lucien Gau - Wall lights
Great finesse for this Empire double sconce in solid bronze, whose old gold patina highlights the carved details of the decoration and carving. The wall part of the sconce is quite sober, a vertical rectangle, polished and matt, surrounded by carved details. The upper and lower parts meet in a perfect symmetry of curved and carved leaves. The scrolled arms, highly decorated, bear daisy flowers and leaves. The profile of the bowls is engraved and the bobeches repeat the design of a flower beginning to open. The quality of the execution of this application is exceptional. It is the result of the centuries-old know-how of the Maison Lucien Gau craftsmen, handed down from generation to generation. Cutting, engraving, assembling and finishing are all done by hand, perfecting the result obtained after the sand casting of the finest alligator bronze, which essentially allows only one use and guarantees the exceptional precision of the decorations.
