This solid bronze Empire style wall sconce is surmounted by a lacquered conical shade. The wall bracket is round, polished and shiny. It continues at right angles to a short arm supporting the bobeche with a candle. The lampshade slides on a bronze rod to adjust its height. This feature refers to the first use of candles in lamps of the period. The whole is delicate and elegant.
