Three lights Empire style table lamp, fluted and lacquered foot, old gold finish, finely decorated lampshade
This Empire-style lamp in solid bronze, burgundy lacquered and antique gold patinated for the gold part, proudly displays the perfection of its three arms with lights. From its hollow base, originally designed to catch the falling wax of the candles, rises a fluted and lacquered foot in the characteristic shape of the Empire style. It is surmounted by a large shining ring, from which the arms are lightly decorated, and ends in flat bowls with details of carved leaves. The adjustable wand that supports the lampshade allowed, at that time, to follow the level of consumption of the candles. It reveals a delicate detail of decoration, the phoenix back to back. The lampshade, in lacquered metal to prevent it from catching fire, is framed by a golden frieze. The whole is perfectly balanced. The design and production come from the workshops of the Maison Lucien Gau, an emblematic company of the French Living Heritage. In a similar inspiration, a slightly larger lamp, also with three candles, can be seen under the reference 16060134.
