Empire style solid bronze lamp, five lights
Golden lamp with a bright gold finish, green empire lampshade - Lucien Gau - Table lamps
Beautiful five light solid bronze gold Empire style lamp. Its green Empire style lampshade is decorated with small gold painted leaves. The bright gold finish of the body gives a relief to the decoration where carved parts like daisies, emblematic flowers of the Empire period, alternate with the polished and glossy parts of the foot and body. Its base is also particularly elaborate. Raised to catch the wax when real candles were still used, it is lined with a frieze delicately decorated with small leaves. Its polished interior is attached to a worked element that serves as a base from its oval central part. Arms with candles, beautifully decorated, emerge from the top. The bowls are flat and lined with small carved leaves. The lampshade is supported by a central stem with a ring and a butterfly adjustment. The whole work is of great beauty and extreme precision. It is the fruit of a combination of exceptional craftsmanship, that of the artisans of the house of Lucien Gau, bronzer of art since 1860, and the use of bronzes of the highest quality.
