Product Description
This Directoire-style lamp in solid bronze with a gilded finish is asymmetrical. The oval of its wine-red lampshade, decorated with bright gold, emphasises the atypical shape of this lamp. The body of this lamp looks like a chalice with a candle on the rim, facing a bird coming to perhaps quench its thirst. The base, beautifully worked in concentric stripes, echoes the top of the goblet, forming a whole of great elegance. The lampshade slides on the stem that crosses it, in reference to the candle models of the time. The brilliance of the finish enhances the beauty of the details and the sense of the preciousness of the whole. The quality of this lamp is exceptional, thanks to the traditional know-how of the artisans at Lucien Gau, an art bronzer since 1860.
