7-light Art Nouveau chandelier
Flower basket chandelier in pink glass and green bronze - Lucien Gau - Chandeliers
Magical and luxurious, this is the Art Nouveau collection from which this magnificent 7-light chandelier in painted bronze and coloured glass paste is taken. The model is composed like a hanging basket of flowers in green painted bronze, with 6 delicate glass paste bells with pink petals, each on a short stem and pointing downwards, in a radius around the small thread. This is surmounted by a seventh flower pointing towards the ceiling, framed by the three stems representing delicate young shoots that triangulate the chandelier and come together around a small piece to which the metal chain is attached. Note the delicacy of the base, which represents a flower with open petals that give rise to a seed reminiscent of a pistil. Thanks to the malleability of bronze, which allows great precision in the details, the collection perfectly embodies the romantic aesthetic with its luxuriant vegetation of the Art Nouveau style, which can be found, for example, on some of the historic porticoes of the Paris metro.
Lucien Gau, a French specialist in the restoration and conservation of historical objects, is the heir to a 19th-century Parisian bronze smith and offers a vast collection of lighting fixtures meticulously crafted in precious metals using traditional high-flying techniques.
