8-light gold Art Nouveau chandelier
Bronze and porcelain chandelier, basket of coloured flowers - Lucien Gau - Chandeliers
Beautiful 8-light chandelier from the Art Nouveau collection, with a brass structure and finely chiselled flowers in coloured glass paste. The model is composed like a golden hanging flower basket, with a series of 8 swan-neck arms, representing the stems and branches of a bouquet, arranged around a discreet central spinning top. The entire chandelier is covered with what appear to be thin tendrils which are decorated with delightful little glass paste flowers, sometimes pink, sometimes blue with touches of green and yellow, with varying degrees of petal opening. The basins at the end of the arms, which hold the imitation candles, are in the shape of a flower in bloom. The whole model, which hangs on a chain, has a beautiful gold finish which, together with the flowers, is a real eye-catcher and brings a warm, rustic feel to your home. The collection perfectly embodies the romantic aesthetics of Art Nouveau, with its lush vegetation that can be found, for example, on some of the historic arcades of the Paris metro.
As the heir to a Parisian bronze workshop that has been in business since the 19th century, Lucien Gau demonstrates year after year the exceptional craftsmanship that has been built up and handed down from generation to generation in the restoration, conservation and reproduction of lighting fixtures using techniques faithful to the period in which they originated.
The collection also includes a 12-light chandelier with reference 22050066, a 3-light chandelier with reference 22050067 and a 6-light chandelier with reference 22050071, as well as a 3-light and a 2-light wall lamp with references 22050068 and 22050070, and a table lamp with reference 220500672.
Dimensions: 100cm maximum total height, 80cm diameter, 66cm height without chain. The light source comes from 8 E14 bulbs, or LED equivalent, to be purchased separately.
