Art nouveau wall lamp with porcelain flowers
Brass and porcelain 3-light candelabra wall lamp - Lucien Gau - Wall lights
This delightful 3-light candelabra in perfect Art Nouveau style has a brass frame and coloured porcelain flowers. The sconce consists of a laser-cut brass wall bracket to which are attached three inverted swan-neck arms representing the branches of a flowering bush. Each arm is surmounted by a flowering bowl that seems to give birth to the candles that stand at its heart. The model is covered with fine brass tendrils that adorn the candleholder with finely chiselled flowers in blue, pink or green porcelain. The collection perfectly embodies the romantic aesthetics of Art Nouveau, with its lush vegetation that can be found, for example, on some of the historic arcades of the Paris metro.
As the heir to a Parisian bronze workshop that has been in business since the 19th century, Lucien Gau demonstrates year after year his exceptional craftsmanship, built up and handed down from generation to generation, in the restoration, conservation and reproduction of lighting fixtures using techniques faithful to the period in which they originated.
