Louis XVI wall lamp, in patinated bronze, old gold, double candle holder
Louis XVI wall lamp in gilded solid bronze, decorated with two arms in double volutes - Lucien Gau - Wall lights
This wall lamp in solid gilded bronze, decorated with two arms in double volutes, echoes the canons of the Louis XVI style with its patinated old gold decoration and its shape. The ornaments are perfectly symmetrical, as recommended by the Louis XVI style. Its decorative elements find their inspiration, on the one hand, in nature through the reproduction of acanthus leaves on the arms of the scrolls, the base of the basins and the central decoration, the flower buds which complete the wall lamp at its two ends and, on the other hand, in the resumption of ancient themes through geometric elements such as the square rings which fix the scrolls to the central body. The bowls and the bobeches supporting the candlesticks are fluted, as is the upper part of the wall lamp. This meticulous work of decoration is entirely handcrafted by the craftsmen of the Lucien Gau workshops, suppliers to all French historical monuments, the largest palaces in the world and government ministries.
