Wall lamp in solid gilded bronze, Louis XVI style, three lights
Patinated wall light old gold, with three volute branches arranged on two levels - Lucien Gau - Wall lights
Grace and lightness characterise this very fine wall lamp in solid gilded bronze, old gold patinated, Louis XVI style. Its three scrolled branches, arranged on two levels, seem to reach for the sky. Its decoration is delicate and original. The leaves placed under the scrolls seem to raise them. The offset of the arms on two levels reinforces this sense of lightness. The inspiration of the Louis XVI style is evident: festoons and draperies for the top, base and bottom of the lamp, the geometry that emphasises the transitions between the various elements, scrolls, bobeches, basins, top and nature in the form of leaves, fruit and flames. The quality of the work is remarkable. The precision of the elements is impeccable. The old gold patina enhances the reliefs.
