Classic style lantern in glass and solid bronze with six lights, by Lucien Gau

An exceptional piece of decoration, this golden lantern is made from solid bronze and classic style glass. Its golden finish gives it strength and lustre. The cylindrical parts that define the high and low parts of the lantern are worked in the form of waves that surround a shell, carved into the thickness of the metal, leaving open parts that give it a great lightness. Each solid bronze column begins with a small pine tree, whose precision of detail is made possible by the extreme quality of the bronze used and the unrivalled expertise of the Maison Lucien Gau craftsmen. Each column is connected to the lower circle by a rectangular ring decorated with a flower and extended by an acanthus leaf. The uprights are finely striated over their entire height and end with new curved acanthus leaves. The upper circle is also decorated with waves and shells. It is surmounted by a polished disc of brilliant lustre to which six finely worked curved arms are attached, which are joined around a ring attached to the first link of the short chain.
