Chandelier, Louis XVI, gilded bronze, six lights
Louis XVI chandelier solid bronze patinated old gold, sporting six scrolled arms carrying lights - Lucien Gau - Chandeliers
Finesse and elegance characterise this Louis XVI chandelier in solid bronze, patinated in antique gold and decorated with six arms in double volutes supporting lights. The delicacy of its arms and the shape of its body, slightly widened and simply decorated, give an enormous sense of purity. The reference to nature, unique to the Louis XVI style, is evident in the acanthus leaves that decorate the first half of each of the arms, and that complete the lower part of the chandelier with a bud surmounted by leaves and crowned by a very original decoration of seasoned foliage. The delicate pearl necklaces that embellish the bowls and the decorations at the ends of the chandelier reinforce this sense of delicacy and finesse. The flutes of the body, the bobeches and the cabochon of the chain are accentuated by the old gold finish, which enhances their relief. The chain itself is beautifully crafted, confirming the extreme minuteness of the pure craftsmanship of this work of art. The reasonable size of this chandelier allows it to be considered in homes with a ceiling height of three metres or more. Matching this chandelier, a wall light with two candleholders is available under the reference 16060043.
Dimensions: height with chain 95 cm, height without chain 75 cm, diameter 60 cm.
