Round Venetian ceiling light in blown glass, 3 lights

Product Description

The Academia outdoor ceiling light is a play of finesse and simplicity in perfect Venetian style, with its diffuser in a flattened sphere of blown Baloton crystal glass and its IP44-rated nickel-plated stainless steel cage. The structure of the ceiling lamp is made up of vertical stainless steel filaments, closely spaced to form the perfect cage for the blown Baloton crystal glass diffuser. This unique process, emblematic of the art of Murano glassmaking, consists of blowing hot glass directly into a metal structure before it solidifies, creating the quilted effect of the glass and rhomboid shapes on the outer surface. It's this special process that gives the glass its semi-transparent texture and fluid feel, making each model unique with the slight variations that are the hallmark of craftsmanship. The result is a sparkling, crystalline surface, a sphere of perfect geometry.

Siru is a brilliant blend of art and craftsmanship, its fascinating lights evoking the splendour of a bygone Venice, hand-crafted in the kiln using the ancient Venetian techniques of blowing and colouring molten glass.

The model also exists in an indoor version, available in 2 sizes under the reference 23060021.

Dimensions: 20 cm high, 48 cm diameter.

The light source comes from 3 E27 bulbs of 60W max each, or LED equivalent, to be purchased separately.
