Hanging lamp on rod and pivoting dome in gilded glass Cyclops
Contemporary suspension lamp in glass parabola, black metal, matching lamp and floor lamp - RADAR - Pendants
The striking Cyclops pendant luminaire is a real eye-catcher, with a design inspired by 1920s studio lighting, a pivoting black metal structure and a gold-plated thermoformed glass reflector. Cyclops is fitted with a bulb that sits at the centre of a glass dome attached to a U-shaped arm that pivots the reflector. This is connected to a rod and a simple black lacquered metal ceiling support. Manufactured in the European Union, the glass dome is made using the traditional thermoformed glass process, a technique in which glass is shaped by exposing it to very high heat in special ovens, making it flexible and malleable. This work is complemented by a beautiful gold finish, which adds a warm dimension, and by the directional aspect of the reflector.
Radar chooses glass as its material of choice to develop finishes and vibrant aesthetics that are rich in texture and innovative. The luminaire was designed by Bastien Taillard, a Frenchman from a creative family who trained in Paris, Milan and on his many travels before founding Radar in 2016 with Italian Francesca Bertini. The brand is quickly making a name for itself with a collection of lamps handcrafted by expert artisans in the 4 corners of Europe.
