Bohemian crystal 6 lights Louis XV chandelier, by Lucien Gau

Equipped with six lights, this charming Louis XV chandelier in patinated old gold bronze and Bohemian crystal combines a metal structure of great simplicity with many Bohemian crystal drops: this chandelier was designed to shine a thousand lights! The central part consists of a base (lower part) finely worked and decorated with leaf and pearl motifs, and an upper element (called barrel or vase) also decorated. From the base, a series of thin rods in the form of a spiral, without ornamentation, emerge to join the upper central element. From the same central part, six arms, also thin, without ornamental motifs and formed in volutes, emerge, supporting at their end as many candlesticks by means of a basin in the shape of a petal. These basins (cups at the base of the candlesticks) are voluntarily reduced to their simplest decorative expression. The set is decorated with a large number of pendants carved in oak leaves and rosettes. The top of this exceptional chandelier is decorated with several tassels mounted in a crown. The solitaire, a faceted crystal ball, adds a final element of balance to this perfectly executed chandelier, which demonstrates the talent of the manufacturer's designers. All metal parts are made of solid bronze, sand cast and old gold patinated. It is entirely made in France. Only the most traditional methods are used to ensure an unrivalled quality of finish.
