Bohemian crystal Louis XV chandelier twelve lights, by Lucien Gau

This twelve-light Louis XV chandelier in patinated bronze, old gold and Bohemian crystal combines a very simple metal structure with an abundance of Bohemian crystal tassels: this chandelier was designed to shine a thousand lights! Twelve thin, unadorned rods emerge from the lower central part of this chandelier to join the attachment element. From the same central part, twelve arms, also without ornamental motifs and formed in a spiral, emerge, supporting at their end as many candlesticks by means of a basin in the shape of a petal. These basins (cups at the base of the candlesticks) are voluntarily reduced to their simplest decorative expression. The set is decorated with a large number of pendants carved in oak leaves and roses. The top of this exceptional chandelier is decorated with many tassels mounted on two levels. The solitaire, a facet cut crystal ball, is a final element and a complement of balance to this masterfully executed chandelier, which demonstrates all the talent of the manufacturer's designers. All metal parts are in solid bronze, sand cast and old gold patinated. It is entirely made in France. Only the most traditional methods are used to ensure an unparalleled quality of finish.
