Reading lamp, small swivel arm in oak
The Scantling floor reading lamp in wood and black metal takes its name from an old-fashioned wooden measuring tool, represented here by the chamfered oak rod. A reading lamp with a small arm that swivels 360°, Scantling is a model of technical precision and aesthetic purity. It is made up of three rectangular rods that articulate. It needs no spring or counterweight to stay in the desired position. It's all about perfect balance. Elegant, graphic and light, it combines wood, the aluminium of its cylindrical shade and lacquered iron with the utmost refinement. Its designer, Mathias Hahn, a graduate of London's prestigious Royal College of Arts, has lived and worked in the English capital since 2006. Mathias Hahn has won a number of international design competitions and is now widely recognised. Mathias is particularly interested in the emotional place that everything, including his lamps, occupy in our lives, over and above their utility.
