Piazza baloton crystal lantern pendant light, by Siru

Timeless Venetian style with this Baloton blown crystal glass lantern and nickel cage from the classic Piazza collection. The lantern, with its generous rounded shape, has a nickel filament structure consisting of a truncated cone topped by a domed section at the top. The diffuser is made of blown glass using the Baloton crystal technique. This unique process, emblematic of the art of Murano glassmaking, involves blowing hot glass directly into a metal structure before it solidifies, creating the quilted effect of the glass and the rhomboid shapes on the outer surface. It's this special process that gives the glass its semi-transparent texture and fluid feel, making each model unique, with the slight variations that are the hallmark of craftsmanship. The Piazza pendant, with its crystalline reflections, is suspended from the ceiling by means of a metal chain, one link of which is connected to a metal flower.

Siru is a brilliant blend of art and craftsmanship, and its fascinating lights, which evoke the splendour of a Venice of yesteryear, are handmade in the kiln using ancient Venetian techniques for blowing and colouring molten glass.
