Be seduced by the pure 50's inspired design of the Mayotte floor lamp with its gilded base and asymmetrical white adjustable shade. Mayotte is fully gilded with a superb antique brass finish, achieved by hand rubbing the metal to give it an authentic golden patina, and has a three-pointed base and angled foot. The shade, a wide, flared, asymmetrical bell, is made of white metal on the outside and gold on the inside, giving a warm hue to the light. It is mounted on a small ball-and-socket joint so that it can be tilted up or down to maximise Mayotte's potential as a living room, office or bedroom light. Note that the switch is on the base, on the power cord.
This lamp is by AERIN, Estée Lauder's granddaughter, who has created a world of Hamptons chic and elegance with Mediterranean influences. The American brand Visual Comfort, which has been in business since 1987, offers a wide range of contemporary and traditional lamps made from the highest quality materials.
