Welcome to our new website!

The previous version was a feat of engineering: 100% hand-built, with the building blocks available in 2010. The design had aged, and its scope for evolution was limited.

So six months ago we decided to invest our time in offering you a new, more modern version — one that uses cutting-edge technology and already comes with more powerful features. It is entirely in-house: no dependency on off-the-shelf e-commerce platforms, state-of-the-art software infrastructure, no more WordPress for the blog (phew), and a powerful, flexible server setup. And we hope: a more modern design, larger images, more elegant typography. The dream!

We kept the principles that made our success

In particular, we kept the visual identity that has been Vraiment Beau's charm for 15 years. We kept the choice of large photo galleries that let you quickly browse many products. And detailed information to describe each product — written one by one by hand, not generated automatically by AI.

Finally, we still do not carry advertising. And we still have to apologise to bargain hunters: the vast majority of our products are made to order by renowned European craftspeople, so we still have no container-end stock to clear.

Your private information is even better protected

As before, we entrust payment processing to our partners (Sogecommerce & PayPal), so no one can steal credit card numbers we do not have.

The site is still hosted 100% in France.

And we have given up using Google Analytics, or any external equivalent. It is the go-to solution for websites. But laws and browsers are increasingly restricting the usefulness of these platforms; and besides, we think those pop-ups that constantly ask you to accept marketing cookies are a plague. None of that here: no information leaves our servers to fill Google, Bing, or Yandex databases.

More powerful features

From today, you benefit from a much more powerful search bar. Try word combinations (chrome pendant light), exclusions (pendant -chrome), typos, and so on… Finding the perfect light fitting that will win you over is still as tricky as ever, but search has become a real tool to help you explore our catalogue.

You can also save products to your favourites (the hearts in catalogues and the buttons at the top right of product pages). We hope this will help you make a quick first selection, and refine it later.

For now, favourites are only saved for the duration of a session: enough to assist you during a search, but you will not find them again if you come back in two months.

Above all, our platform can now evolve much faster, and we intend to offer you new features in the coming months!

The team has not changed. We remain the same family business, prioritising trusted relationships with our suppliers and customer satisfaction. And still zero compromise on the beauty and quality of our light fittings. We remain as passionate as ever about forging steel, blowing glass, casting bronze, cutting components, assembling fabrics — and all the techniques our partners master in their workshops.
