Small black and white Ginger wall light in wenge wood and white lacquered metal, by Marset

This small black and white wall light from the Ginger collection, made of wenge wood on the outside and white lacquer on the inside, is a bit like the black sun, with its black metal reflector and powerful yet light indirect LED lighting radiating from its centre. Its creator, Joan Gaspar, a product manager at Marset for two decades, describes himself as an industrial designer. He is particularly interested in the technical aspects of design applied to different materials. Here, wood is used for the intimate feel it gives to lighting. To achieve the unusual result of a wooden lamp with an almost flat appearance, wood strips, paper and resins had to be combined and pressed under high pressure. The Ginger wall lights come in three sizes and several finishes. They can be placed individually, but the idea is to present them in pairs or threes. In this way they create an ensemble that adapts to the qualities and needs of the space, providing different shades of light depending on the finish. The Ginger collection also includes a pendant lamp with the reference 17020301, a wall lamp with a pivoting arm with the reference 17020329 in wenge wood, with the reference 17020330 in oak and a large wall lamp with a pivoting arm with the reference 17020331.
