Stunning empire style chandelier, solid bronze, six lights, by Lucien Gau

Superb, this massive bronze Empire-style chandelier with six lights highlighted by basins and bobeche is beautifully crafted. The work and detail of its decoration is extreme and goes up to the cabochon chiselled to make a real gem. Every element is a masterpiece. The pine tree that decorates the base of the chandelier and the cabochon is an absolute perfection. It is extended by chiselled leaves that decorate the underside of the chandelier. Its body is in the form of a double bowl, with a polished and brilliant frieze decorated with daisies and leaves. From the largest diameter of the chandelier, six arms in volutes, also decorated with daisies and leaves engraved in the mass, emerge, surmounted by basins and bobeches. The central part of the chandelier ends with a carved flame. It is suspended by three chains, beautifully worked and joined at the beginning of the cabochon, a true gem.
