Louis XVI style chandelier, solid bronze, basin shape
Louis XVI chandelier old gold, three lights, double volute arm, polished basin - Lucien Gau - Chandeliers
Very original, this Louis XVI style chandelier is made of solid bronze with a moulded bowl suspended at three points by links to links. Its antique gold finish creates a magnificent contrast between the purity of the matte finish of the polished cut and the reliefs of the double scrolled arms and the fluted cabochon. The canons of the Louis XVI style are respected with references to nature through the presence of curved leaves that support the cut and extend along the volutes, and through the buds of the base of the bowl and the cabochon. The O-shaped links and the geometry of the bowls, as well as the drawing of the bobeches, refer to the classical inspiration. The quality of the work on this chandelier is exceptional and entirely French and handcrafted. Its bronze comes from the best alloys and the craftsmen who worked on it have inherited the ancestral know-how that the Lucien Gau house has held for six generations. Its shape and dimensions require a ceiling height of three metres to be fully appreciated.
