A beautiful Saint Germain table lamp with a retro design, made of gilded metal, Venetian crystal and black shade, as well as the oro sommerso ball detail, a typical technique of the Murano glass masters. The lamp is composed of a round base and straight foot in metal with a galvanised gold finish, and the foot is dressed with a crystal element in a magnificent violet colour, all topped with a large black cylindrical shade. The originality of the model lies in the transparent crystal sphere containing a golden bubble, which tops the shade and gives the impression of a luminous star floating above the lamp. The luminaire is a design by Barovier & Toso, which comes from a long line of master glassmakers dating back to the 14th century, and perpetuates the family tradition and know-how as well as the firm's leading position, while having introduced a modernist dimension and innovative aesthetics into the discipline of Murano glasswork.
