Pompeii silver figurative table lamp

Pompeii, as its name suggests, represents those people frozen in the explosion of Vesuvius. The bronze from which the lamp base is made lends itself particularly well to this representation, it takes the form of a silhouette which stands on a foot balanced on a small cubic step on a circular base. He seems to be holding the square off-white taffeta shade with his arms for this model. The bronze is cast using an industrial-inspired technique that produces this irregular texture, making each fixture a unique model, and the patinated finish of the bronze you see here is achieved by covering the foot with a thin, even layer of nickel, preferred to silver for its resistance to oxidation, all after a bronze polishing operation. The result is a color very close to silver. It is a model with a classic style enriched by the strength and elegance of bronze.
