Art Deco crystal ball and brushed brass pendant trim
Pendant in frosted Venetian crystal, hexagonal tube - Barovier&Toso - Pendants
The Art Deco Trim pendant is made up of a succession of geometric modules with a hexagonal cross-section, which multiply to form this ball of frosted Venice crystal. The principle of repetition is taken from the large installations made in the 60s and 70s by the glassmaker and the geometric tubes made of Venetian crystal are placed in a bundle to form the sphere, and encircled by a brushed brass ring. Note that the tubes can be placed to form a perfect ball or a more angular shape. Note the detail of the crystal, worked with an ancient technique that gives this particular texture that evokes frosted ice. The pendant is attached to its round ceiling support by a set of three rods reinforcing the geometric and repetitive characteristics of the Art Deco style. Barovier & Toso, from a long line of master glassmakers dating back to the 14th century, perpetuates the family tradition and know-how, while having introduced a modernist dimension and innovative aesthetics to the discipline of Murano glasswork.
