Chandelier with six candlesticks in gilt bronze Louis XV
Solid bronze chandelier, old gold patina, ornamental petal motifs - Lucien Gau - Chandeliers
This golden chandelier with six candlesticks in the Louis XV style is made of patinated solid old gold bronze. Its sober and perfectly balanced design consists of a central part in two superimposed elements, decorated with discreet ornamental motifs sculpted and engraved by hand. The lower part (or base) is carved in the form of broad trumpet-shaped petals. The six branches in double volutes are decorated with folded leaves and support, in a very graceful movement, many candlesticks. The basins (cups at the base of the candlesticks) match the base of this chandelier. At the top of the chain, with its thick golden links, is a ceiling cap with matching decoration. This delicate and elegant ensemble benefits from all the quality of the Lucien Gau workshops: the solid bronze is cast in a lost-wax mould, then hand-worked, engraved, finished and patinated. Measuring only 70 cm from the chain, this chandelier can be placed under ceilings of 2m75 or more. A five-light model of almost identical design, measuring only 56cm high, is also available (reference 12020239). A matching wall sconce is available as reference 12020240.
Dimensions: chain height 70cm, with chain 85cm, diameter 68cm.
Light source: Six E14 standard bulbs, preferably frosted.
